Andy Goode’s penalty gave Sarries an early lead but converted tries from Sam Tuitupou and Jonathan Mills gave Sale a 14-3 lead at the break.
Saracens improved in the second half but Sale held firm with a committed defensive effort.
Sarries secured a losing bonus point through Richard Barrington’s late try after Mark Cueto was sin-binned.
