Spectators shelter from the rain at Lord's

Third Test, Lord’s, day five:
England 416 & 233-7 dec
Sri Lanka 288 & 32-0
Sri Lanka need 330 more runs to win

Rain delayed England’s attempt to press for victory over Sri Lanka on the final day of the third Test at Lord’s.

After 43 overs were lost to the weather on Sunday, intermittent rain prevented the tourists from resuming on 32-0 in pursuit of a Lord’s record 362 to win.

An early lunch was taken at 12:30 BST following a pitch inspection.

Victory would seal a 3-0 series whitewash for England, who claimed convincing wins at Headingley and Chester-le-Street.

A five-match one-day series between the sides starts at Trent Bridge on 21 June, after Sri Lanka play Ireland in two ODIs in Dublin on 16 and 18 June.
