England pick uncapped pair for West Indies tour

Uncapped bowlers Beth Langston and Sophie Ecclestone are in the England women’s squad for their five-match one-day tour of the West Indies next month.

Loughborough Lightning’s Langston, 24, who made her Twenty20 international debut in the West Indies in 2013, is included despite a broken thumb.

Lancashire spinner Ecclestone, 17, played in two T20s against Pakistan in July, taking three wickets.

Batter Fran Wilson is ruled out after breaking a finger in training.

10 October: 2nd one-day international v West Indies, Trelawny

14 October: 3rd one-day international v West Indies, Kingston

16 October: 4th one-day international v West Indies, Kingston

19 October: 5th one-day international v West Indies, Kingston

(The latter three matches count towards the ICC Women’s Championship, a points-based system where the top four teams will qualify automatically for the 2017 Women’s World Cup in England)
